The MOT is a service that every car will need to go through every year, the test goes through a long list of important checks and safety checks to ensure that your car is up to high standards and drivable legally.

You’re MOT Larbert test centre has high quality designated test bays so that we can provide a high level of service whilst we provide your car with its MOT. The equipment that we use for your MOT test is of the highest quality and meets the required specification for the MOT testing. Your MOT Larbert test covers lots of checks from the Body of the car to the exhaust emissions.

The bodywork of the vehicle needs to be free from excessive corrosion or damage in many of the important areas of the vehicle; the speedometer gets tested to ensure that the condition and operation is to the standards expected.

Our Mechanics and technicians will test your fuel system to ensure that the pipe work and hoses meet the required condition and that there are no leaks from the system. The testers will also test to make sure that the fuel cap fastens and seals securely.

The MOT Larbert test will need to ensure that your car meets the tightest requirements depending on age and fuel type for the exhaust emissions. We will also take a look at your exhaust system to ensure that it is not too noisy and to ensure that the system is secure and fully complete. The system will need to be tested for any leaks.

Seat belts in your vehicle will need to be checked for any malfunction and to ensure the indicator lamp is working for the air bags and seat belt pre tension systems in the vehicle. The belts will need to tested and checked for type, condition, operation and security.

In the MOT test the driver’s seat will be tested to ensure that it can be adjusted to any distance away from the steering wheel. The tester will ensure that the seats and seat backs can be secured in an upright position.

The tester will also ensure that the doors are working correctly; they need to make sure that the doors latch securely when they are in a closed position; the doors need to open from both inside and outside of the vehicle. The rear doors will also be tested on you MOT Larbert test to make sure that the doors open from the outside.

Brakes, tyres and wheels will need to be tested to make sure that the condition of them meets the legal requirements.

Your lights on your car will be tested to ensure that the levels of the lights are in an optimistic position and that they provide you the necessary security for when you need to use them.

During your MOT Larbert test we will also test your Mirrors, Bonnet, Wipers and Washers, Horn, Windscreen, Steering and Suspension and also you VIN.

If your vehicle fails the MOT test then you will receive a failure document which states the relevant information as to why the fail verdict has been given. The quotes will refer back to the inspection manual which is available for you to read as requested.
